We begin our journey by drive towards the North West of Kathmandu to a mountain village of Dhunche a major village of Langtang area. The trek commence from here to the farmland, villages and forest of Rhododendron, conifer, bamboo's, oaks and pines, swift mountain streams, rugged rocks, grassy downs and meadows strewn with daises and wild animals. In the upper langtang region, we can found snow ridges spannin angry torrents, high passes enveloped in mist tiny lakes of crystalline brightness and lglaciated mountains giants. Tamang Heritage Trek (12)

The Langtang valley is called " the valley of the glaciers". This is a superb introduction to trekking in Nepal among some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole country, with rich tamang culture. Here, mountains rise shinning towards the sky. The valleys offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy downs with daises and wild primula.  There are still bears, leopards, red pandas amd musk deer. In Mearch and April the Rhododendron forests have species of trees, birds and butterflies. while trekking you can discover the rough history of the Tibetain ancestors. They dress colorful and their houses are adorned with beautiful woodcarvings. The views of the Himalayan snow capped mountains will be unfrorgettabe. Many years ago Nepal, fought with Tibet for salt and some of the biggest areas where this war took place is in the Langtang Region of Nepal, wherein lies the third most popular trekking trail in Nepal. Developed by the Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program, the "Tamang Heritage Trail" is the newly developed tourism product, off the beaten track, which highlights an ancient lifestyle combining it with picturesque scenery and healing baths in natural hot springs.The people of this region are mostly Tibetans who came from Kerung in Tibet across the border and settled in Nepal. Tamang rituals, Tibetan culture, festivals, traditional architecture, costumes, local Syabru dances make the exposure to this culture very unique. The culture is virtually untouched. There is a view point at Goljung Pass, from where views of Langtang and Kerung (Tibet) can be awe inspiring. Visitors will get an opportunity to observe Syabru, Mane and other local dances at Goljung and Gatlang VDCs. The villages also sell exclusive handicraft items like traditional caps, mufflers and other items. Tourists can enjoy hot bath in the healing hot-water spring at Tatopani before reaching Nagthali, where the stay is a unique experience. Ganesh Himal Trek (17)

The high valleys north of the Ganesh range on the Tibetan border are the complete wilderness and away from much of the trekkers.Just west of Langtang National Park is a group of peaks called the Ganesh Himal. This trek takes you through river valleys and traditional farming communities that contain a variety of the ethnic groups in Nepal. This is one of the legendry "Hidden Valleys" of the Himalayas, guarded by 3 tiered pagoda set on rocky steep sided gorges to pine forest and alpine meadows leading to a huge glacier below the snow capped peaks. It is one of the precious areas where the simple life of Himalayas can be still observed. The charm of this area is that it offers quite but variegated trekking, visiting some peaceful villages of Tamangs, hot spas, gorges and glaciers. The trek also goes through pine and rhododendron forests and across various passes and cols. There are wonderful views of Langtang, Gosain Kund, Ganesh Himal, Boudha Peak, Himal Chuli, Machhapuchre, South Annapurna and Annapurna II. A trip to the Ganesh Himal, offers to observe the different ways of life culture, direct contact with rural people in the small villages, flora, fauna, mountains, lust forest, river gorges and different landscapes.
During the period of your trek you will see the method of living of those rural people in Nepal. This trekking provides unusual sights of the traditional life story of the people and un-spoilt wilderness. Many interesting ethnic groups a mixed of lifestyle offer you a glimpse into real Nepali life and this gives visitors an opportunity to observe the rich Nepalese cultural tradition from the closest quarter and intermingle with locals, hence giving the visitor a sense of satisfaction.

  • I had the pleasure last January of having the most wonderful trekking guide around Kathmandu and then the Annapurna circuit. Rajandra Khandal was not only knowledgeable about Nepalese history and trails, he was also patient, efficient, very smart and witty, spoke excellent English and always seemed to have a good rapport with whoever we encountered, both local Nepalese and tourists. He was an extremely strong guide who carried some of my belongings along with his own, and never appeared tired, always as energetic and agile as a mountain goat.  I remember one instance where  we did a steep climb, and I as usual was moving very slowly. When we reacched the top of the mountain I realized I did not have my money pouch, and had probably dropped it way back on the trail where we had stopped.  As soon as I told him he was off, running down the mountain at top speed.  I watched him reach the bottom and take off like lightning down the trail.  We had passed a group of boys walking in the direction of where I had dropped my pouch, and of course, if they found it that would be the end of that.  But he reached the pouch before the boys, and came running back down the trail and up the mountain in 15 minutes, the same steep climb that had taken me much longer!!  He arrived smiling and happy that he had suceeded.  I was very, very grateful, and impressed!!! He was always good natured and hapy!! After that I let him carry my money.  At the end of the trek I found out how frugal he had been, and that he had negotiated lodgings so skillfully that he had save me quite a lot of money.  We remain good friends and I look forward to the time when I can return to Nepal and trek again with this wonderful young man.  If you are planning to visit Nepal, don't miss the chance to trek with Raj, it will be nothing short of a great experience!!Peggy Cabbab.

    I would highly recommend Raj as a guide of Nepal.  He is truly an amazing young man, with exceptional customer service skills.  I met Raj on my very first day in Nepal, and he took such good care of me.  He guided me around the most common sites of Kathmandu.  He not only physically showed me these places, he had so much knowledge about each and every place we visited, which was really informative.  Raj and I had a lot of great conversations during the few days he was guiding me, and introduced me to the beautiful Nepal.  Nepal is a place I will forever hold in my heart, and Raj has become a dear friend, whose kindness and friendship will remain with me always.  Raj will show you beautiful sights of his home country, and will do so with such a passion for life!  He is an amazing person, and does a fantastic job with guiding people.  Rebecca   NZ.
